This year International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), one of the largest charities in the world working towards ending elephant ivory and rhinoceros horn trade is celebrating its 50th anniversary. As part of this celebration, Global President and CEO of IFAW, Azzedine Downes, will be visiting Australia for an important fundraising event hosted by Leonard Joel, Melbourne.

The fundraiser includes an online auction of fine art featuring 10 artworks from 10 galleries, with all proceeds going to nominated IFAW projects in Australia.

Included in this auction is Nigel Sense’s ‘Captain Beefheart with Self Portrait’ 2017. From an early age, Beefheart was obsessed with animals and sympathetic to their suffering and it is fitting that a portrait of this legendary musician, artist and poet be included in the charity auction.
