Congratulations to Merryn Trevethan for being selected as a finalist in the Wyndham Art Prize 2018 for her work Confirmation Bias…. The national prize is exhibited at the Wyndham Art Gallery, opening Thursday, 29 March 2018.
Merryn Trevethan holds a Masters of Fine Art from Monash University. In 2015 and 2016 she was commissioned to create murals for the Singapore offices of Facebook. She was awarded first prize for the 2015 DRIVE – Public Art Open Call at Gillman Barracks, Singapore. Public art projects include HUFF Outdoor Studio Residency at Gillman Barracks, Singapore (2016), ArtTown Public Art Festival (2016), Melbourne, Footscray on the Edge (2012) and a commission to create temporary public works for Substation for Big West Festival (2011).
She has been Artist in Residence at PointB Worklodge, New York (2011), Red Gate International Artist Residency, China (2009) and GEMS World Academy, Singapore (2015). She has recently been selected for the 2018 Golden Foundation Residency Program in New York. Her work is held in Yale/ National University of Singapore Collection as well as numerous private collections.
Recent solo exhibitions include Provable Falsehoods (2017) Fox Galleries, Melbourne; The Party’s Over (2016) Australian High Commission, Singapore and Thanks For The Downgrade… (You Should All Be Fired!) at Fehily Contemporary (2013). Recent group exhibitions include Apertures, Yeo Workshop, Singapore (2017); Of Colour and Light, Yarra Sculpture Gallery (2016); Colour In, 120 Langford (2013) and LINE, Wyndham Art Gallery (2013).
